Ordinary brass
It is an alloy of copper and zinc.
When the zinc content is less than 35%, zinc can dissolve in copper to form a single phase, known as single phase brass, good plasticity, suitable for hot and cold compression processing.
When the zinc content is 36%~46%, there is a single phase and copper zinc based β solid solution, called dual-phase brass, β phase makes the plasticity of brass decreased and the tensile strength increased, only suitable for hot pressure processing.
If the mass fraction of zinc continues to increase, the tensile strength will decrease and it is useless.
The code name is "H + number", where H represents brass and number represents the mass fraction of copper.
For example, H68 refers to brass with a copper content of 68% and zinc content of 32%. Cast brass is preceded by the word "Z", as in ZH62.
For example, Zcuzn38 is cast brass with 38% zinc content and copper margin.
H90, H80 are single-phase brass, golden yellow, so they are called gold, known as coatings, decorations, MEDALS, etc.
H68, H59 are duplex brass, widely used in electrical structural parts, such as bolts, nuts, washers, springs and so on.
In general, single-phase brass is used for cold deformation processing and dual-phase brass is used for hot deformation processing.
